  fees

simple fee structure has worked out to be the best for both couples and for me. It ensures you a fixed, predictable cost in your planning budget and enables me to make firm plans for your wedding.

First there is a no-cost planning session to provide an opportunity us to get to each other and to ensure that the wedding planned is appropriate. When we finish our meeting, you will have a wide selection of vows, readings and other parts of the ceremony. After this meeting, a $125 non-refundable scheduling fee is required for me to make a time commitment for your wedding. This normally is paid during or immediately following the planning meeting.

The scheduling fee protects the time and location selected for the wedding service in my schedule, a key planning item for May through October weddings when the many ceremonies are scheduled. Weddings planned for any holiday weekend also face the similar scheduling pressures.

For weddings that will occur within 30 days of our meeting, I expect you to make payment in full when you meet with me. Ordinarily, I do not accept weddings with less than 2 weeks notice.

An honorarium of $200 is expected for the wedding ceremony itself. Normally, this is paid at the time of the wedding unless a rehearsal is also included. Rehearsal, travel or other special expenses are additional costs.

The total cost of a wedding will be at least $325.

I try to arrive early for each wedding to assure the bride that everything is ready to proceed and to complete all the required legal documents, including obtaining the necessary signatures.

Rehearsals

My participation in any rehearsal or attendance at a rehearsal dinner the night prior to a wedding service is mainly dependent on scheduling issues. If I am available, the cost for my leadership at a rehearsal is an additional $200.  All fees due for the rehearsal and wedding ceremony should be paid at the rehearsal. To ensure that each couple is ready for the ceremony, I will provide detailed rehearsal instructions during our initial wedding planning session plus follow-up telephone consultation as required.

Ceremonies at my home

The cost of a ceremony held at my residence is $200 and must be paid in full when the ceremopny is scheduled, preferably at least two weeks prior to the ceremony. If you have a special need or request, please ask. Other than the bride and groom and their 2 witnesses, these ceremonies normally are attended only by a few family members and friends

Scheduling time limits are usually waived for military couples.

Extra Costs

Wedding ceremonies aboard yachts or trains, or special setting that require me to remain for several hours also may incur additional costs depending on the amount of time required. For weddings in the Puget Sound area (Centralia to Everett, Bremerton to Snoqualmie Pass), there are no extra charges for travel. If travel is expected out of the area, the bride and groom are expected to pay all hospitality and transportation expenses. A separate fee will be negotiated for the time used on a case-by-case basis.
